RICHARD KOMARNISKI, founder and president of Grey Owl Aviation Consultants Inc., a leading provider of human factors in aviation training has been active in the aircraft maintenance field since 1974. He holds a valid Canadian and U.S. Pilot and Aircraft Mechanic Certificates and has worked as a Director of Quality Assurance, Base Engineer and Airworthiness Inspector. Richard has dedicated his time since 1991 to aviation error reduction by developing and facilitating human factors workshops for the aviation community as well as Safety Management System, Fatigue Risk Management Systems and Aviation Leadership workshops for organizations. He has published numerous articles on human factors, safety management systems and aviation safety in industry publications including AMT, DOM and AMU. In 2008 Richard was the recipient of NAASCO Aircraft Maintenance Technician of the year Award. His expertise has been sought after as a presenter at annual conferences such as National Business Aviation Association, Helicopter Association International, Airborne Law Enforcement Association, Western, Central and Ontario Aircraft Maintenance Engineers Association, Aeronautical Repair Station Association and Bombardier Safety Standdown. Richard is a contributing author for “Implementing Safety Management Systems in Aviation” published by Ashgate in June 2011. He is appointed as a National Member of the FAASTeam. |
